Constructed in the early 20th century, this building has been a silent witness to the ebb and flow of Mansfield's evolution, reflecting the resilience and spirit of its community.

Originally home to Platts’ Optical, the building served as a hub for local artisans and professionals, contributing to the bustling commerce that defined North Main Street.

Perhaps one of its most enduring roles was as the home of S.S. Kresge, a popular five-and-dime store that occupied the space for an incredible 59 years, from its opening in 1914 to its closing in 1974. For generations, it was a cornerstone of downtown life, offering everyday essentials and a familiar gathering place for Mansfield residents.

In the 1970s, the lower level transformed into the Yellow Deli, a beloved eatery known for its warm atmosphere and community gatherings. The Yellow Deli offered hot steamed sandwiches, homemade soups, and unique drinks, becoming a cherished spot for locals to connect and share stories.

When we first saw the abandoned building, we envisioned restoring its former glory while infusing new life into its historic walls. With dedication and respect for its storied past, we undertook extensive renovations, preserving the architectural integrity that makes 23 North Main Street a landmark in Mansfield's downtown.

We embarked on a mission to revitalize not just the building but to also play a part in revitalizing the community it serves. By collaborating with local businesses and organizations, we aim to make 23 North Main Street a vibrant center for events and gatherings, honoring its legacy as a place where people come together.

Today, Roseto Event Venue stands ready to host a myriad of events, from weddings and baby showers to cultural celebrations and networking events. Each gathering adds a new chapter to the building's rich history, weaving together the past and present in a tapestry of community and connection.
